PORTFOLIO BREAKDOWN
Creative Exercise (Spec Project)
This video was cut as an imaginative mashup of Helldivers entering the world of The Lord of the Rings. The idea was to blend two opposed genres but be visually consistent and cinematic.
One of the biggest concerns was including realistic VFX elements.
I used heavy motion tracking with DaVinci's Fusion to composite spaceships into the scene with realistic motion and scale. I used Multistroke to paint the sky and tracked the changes to duplicate the original camera motion. To enhance the mood, I applied a red color grade, explosions and smoke effects, and Helldivers' themed SFXs and sound design. I applied a fake camera shake to give intensity and immersion in the scene, and created masks to fake lighting and shadow effects from the ships.
Videogame Trailer (AIV Students Collaboration Projects)
Edited for a student-made horror game, with the main goal of generating suspense and psychological tension throughout the trailer.
I captured and selected gameplay footage, then structured the edit around a steadily increasing rhythm, tightly locked to the music to build a sense of growing unease. I designed the soundscape using horror-themed SFXs and manipulated saturation levels to find a dark, unsettling visual tone.
One of the key additions I made was the use of tracked lighting masks for the generation of lightning flashes, a purely post-production visual effect, as thunder and lightning were not present in the original game. Not only were the flashes utilized for atmosphere, but also to build tension and foreshadow the presence of the monster.
At the end of the trailer, the creature is only briefly revealed, which serves to maintain its mystery and create more tension. Because this is a horror game, the point was not to fully reveal the creature, the player should view the monster in their own time in-game, not all at once in the trailer.
Unreal Engine 5 Exercise (Spec Project)
This project was my first serious experience with Unreal Engine, where I explored its core features by creating a whole environment.
I designed a custom camera motion path, applied materials to 3D meshes, and built a scene from scratch, with a softly rolling hills landscape around the edge to frame the view naturally. I experimented with different camera settings, which I found extremely intuitive since I am accustomed to working with mirrorless cameras.
For a bit more realism, I used the foliage system to populate the scene with vegetation. I also performed some color adjustment to make the whole thing more visually appealing. The main goal of this project was to learn the fundamentals of Unreal Engine by building a consistent and visually pleasing scene from the ground up.
Boxing Match (Freelance Project)
I made this video to convey and present the energy of a sports event in a cinematic and emotionally engaging way.
I applied a dramatic color grade to highlight the seriousness of the game's critical moments and utilized light rhythmically, in sync with the music, to draw attention to specific scenes. Speed ramps and slow-motion effects were utilized to extend and heighten epic sequences, adding weight and emotion to important actions.
In the intro, I combined two calm clips to create a peaceful, reflective atmosphere pre-match, tightly timed with the soundtrack. I also inserted some additional SFXs, such as punch impacts and swooshes, in post-production to add physicality and rhythm to the edit.
Aftermovie (Freelance Project)
This was created to increase visibility and enthusiasm for a local club through a fast-paced and contemporary promotional edit.
I color corrected and edited Log Profile footage from scratch to optimize lighting, mostly because the shoot was plagued with low-light issues.
Pacing was designed to be wave-like in motion, slow at the start, building with energy, then tailing off once more, all synced to the beats of the music in order to choreograph the cuts and transitions. I included speed ramps and motion effects with directional blur to add depth of movement and flow.
I also used a masked "portal" transition to bring in the name of the club creatively and transition it to the start of the main video.
ADDITIONAL PROJECTS
Basketball Match (Freelance Project)
I filmed and edited this video for highlight the best moments with the rithm of a hiphop/rap music.
I color corrected the clips to have some blueish and dark ambience to give some hard training vibes. The speed is all curve based to have some smooth transitions.
Creative Transition (Spec Project)
This is a funny clip of myself trying to dunk a basketball. I used Google earth Studio for the earth, moon and space animations. It was very helpful to understand the basic of camera motion in 3D programs. I masked the ball and animated to make it fly inn to the sky and masked also the basket field (created the shadow) to make it appear clear in the moon landscape.
Aftermovie (Freelance Project)
In this particular video I made some smooth speed ramps transition.
In the Fudion page I created a glowing light animation to matching the clip movent, worked in log profile to have the most elastic option with the lights and colors and some portal masks transition to highlight the club name
Aftermovie (Freelance Project)
For this aftermovie my client asked to make some sick transition at the beginning of the video. I made a zoom inside of the phone, with a green screen and tracked all the movement to make it clear. I edited all the clips using the rithm of the music and made a very slowed clip to interrupt the pace at half video.
Animated Poster (Freelance Project)
I created this poster for a client and tryied to use some of animation basics to make it smooth. I used a modifier in fusion called Perturb and used the settings to adjust the movement.
I applied some smoke, grain, particles VFX and a red color correction to match everything.
Basketball Short (Spec Project)
In this clip i tried to create a ball transition to highlight the ball in the pass.
I recorded and maked clearly the ball, than made a clip without the ball.
In fusion I made the clip blurry to simulate the fast movement and added the ball without the background.
At the end I added few more clips to conclude the short.
